Our mission is to inspire the voice and creative mind within every student in Napa County
Arts Council Napa Valley and Napa Valley Education Foundation collaboratively support, sustain, and advocate for arts education in Napa County. As partners in the ACNV Education Alliance, these nonprofits believe the arts engage and connect students with each other, their schools, and their community and are integral to teaching and learning 21st century skills. Through partnering with schools and the community, these partners work with other local advocates and funders to ensure equitable access to a culturally-relevant arts education.
ARTS COUNCIL NAPA VALLEY Education alliance
In 2013, Arts Council Napa Valley (ACNV) founded the ACNV Education Alliance to support, sustain, and advocate for arts education in Napa County. This public-private alliance made up of educators, students, community volunteers, and district arts administrators began with a comprehensive assessment of the local arts education landscape. In 2015, with the assessment complete and major support from Festival Napa Valley, the Education Alliance partners and the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) commissioned and drafted the NVUSD Arts Master Plan, which presents a comprehensive framework for the development of TK-12 sequential, standards-based arts education curriculum. Since then, the NVUSD Board of Education unanimously adopted the Arts Master Plan and hired a full-time Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Coordinator, co-funded by ACNV Ed Alliance partners, to lead the initiative. Currently, new curriculum and programs are being developed to fulfill the promise of the assessment and the Alliance mission and NVUSD Arts Master Plan.
ARTS COUNCIL NAPA VALLEY
As the official local arts agency in Napa County, Arts Council Napa Valley connects, advocates, and leads the arts community countywide. Since 1981 the Arts Council has served to benefit all residents with a more sustainable, accessible and quality local arts scene. Since the adoption of the Napa County Cultural Plan in 2009, it has organized policy initiatives like the City of Napa Percent for Art Ordinance and Napa Valley Unified School District Arts Master Plan. The Arts Council also offers programs and support, like the annual State of the Arts Summit, Napa Valley Creative Directory and ACNV Community Fund, to empower the industry through education, information, and resources.
Napa Valley education foundation
We believe NVUSD provides an excellent education for students in our community. Every day, we support their work by providing critical extra programs students need to perform their best. We want all our students to graduate from high school ready for college or a successful career.
Each year, we raise nearly $500,000 to fund critical gaps in public funding for education. We believe an investment in education is an investment in our future!
The Napa Valley Unified School District has thirty schools and an enrollment of 18,000 students. The district is developing the next generation of leaders in our community, preparing students for today’s fast-paced world. The district strives to provide a rich academic experience that includes critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. The Napa Valley Education Foundation supports teachers, students and the district to ensure all students are engaged and prepared for success in college, career and life.
